Stepping into Shanghai Sunny Textiles for the first time felt like returning to a place both familiar and new. The scent of cotton and dyes mingled with the steady hum of machinery, creating a symphony that resonated deep within me. This wasn't just a factory—it was a tapestry of my childhood memories and the heart of my family's legacy. I had no idea then that this summer internship would lay the foundation for my understanding of business and profoundly shape my future.

In those early days, I was a mix of eagerness and nervousness. Immersing myself in the production processes, I was amazed by how raw fibers transformed into beautiful textiles. Watching the artisans' skilled hands move with such precision—each motion deliberate and perfected over years—was truly inspiring. When I got involved in quality control, I learned just how crucial attention to detail is; even the smallest flaw could undo hours of meticulous work. These hands-on experiences didn't just teach me technical skills—they instilled in me a deep appreciation for hard work and craftsmanship.

Spending time with the management team, especially my parents, gave me invaluable insights into leadership. I observed my father as he navigated complex negotiations with suppliers, balancing firmness with friendliness. My mother, on the other hand, managed the workforce with genuine empathy, always ready to listen and support. Their different styles showed me that leadership isn't just about making decisions—it's about building trust, encouraging teamwork, and guiding everyone toward a common goal.

Working alongside employees who had known me since I was a child strengthened my connection to our family's heritage. They shared stories of my grandparents' struggles and successes, weaving them into the daily fabric of our operations. The traditions upheld in the company weren't just formalities—they were reflections of our identity and values. This wasn't just a professional journey for me; it was a personal reconnection with my roots. It reminded me that our family business is more than just commerce—it's about preserving a legacy and fostering a community.

Looking back on my time at Shanghai Sunny Textiles, I realize how deeply it has influenced the way I approach both business and life. The lessons I learned about perseverance, integrity, and the importance of human connections continue to guide me. When I face challenges today, I draw strength from the wisdom gained during those formative years. That summer didn't just teach me how to run a business—it taught me how to honor where I come from while forging my own path forward.
